Core Beliefs

We believe in one God that exists eternally and equally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God and they work in unity and harmony. 

(Matthew 3:16-17; John 14:9-10; Matthew 28:19; Colossians 2:9)

We Believe the Bible is the inspired, Inerrant, and Infallible Word of God and the final authority for all matters of life and faith. We believe what the Bible says about itself, which is that it is inspired by God. It is a collection of writings by human authors who were under the authority and guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is to be interpreted according to its context and purpose and when “rightly divided” it is the ultimate authority for our faith, our lives, and the practices of our church.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal with the Father. He is the Savior of the world who lived a perfect and sinless life who offered Himself as the sacrifice for the sins of all mankind by dying on the cross. He was buried and rose on the third day to demonstrate power and authority over sin and death.

We believe every person is made in the image of God and carries immeasurable worth, dignity, and purpose. No one is merely the sum of their past, pain, choices, struggles, or circumstances. Every human being was created by God, loved by God, and made to live in relationship with Him, with others, and with purpose in the world.

Because of sin, humanity is broken and the conditions God intended for flourishing have been distorted. But the image of God has not been erased. Through Jesus, people can be restored, made new, and empowered to become who God created them to be.

At Impact City Church, this means we see people as valuable, capable, and worthy of love. We create environments where people are seen, known, loved, equipped, and empowered to make an impact.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He was constantly spoken of and promised by Jesus. He lives in every Christian from the moment of authentic conversion to indwell, infill, enlighten, empower, lead, guide, correct, convict, and comfort their lives.

We believe salvation (the forgiveness of sins) is a free gift of grace through the blood of Jesus Christ (His death on the cross) However, as is the case with any gift, it must be received.

(Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:8-11; Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe the Bible teaches that the pattern to follow to receive Jesus as Savior is to believe in Christ as God's Son and Savior of the world, to repent of personal sin, to confess Christ as Lord, and to be immersed in baptism for the remission of sin.

(Luke 24:45-47; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; 2 Peter 3:9)

We hold a biblical view on marriage, gender, sex and life. We believe marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed to be a lifelong commitment that strengthens family and community. We view gender as a part of God’s unique, distinct, and divine design for each human being, male or female with differing yet complementary roles for men and women, each contributing uniquely to the well-being of the family. We believe that sex is seen as a gift from God, intended to be enjoyed within the bounds of marriage, and we uphold biblical teachings that view sexual activity outside of marriage as contrary to God’s design. We also affirm that God is the author of life starting at conception to natural death.
